The Center for Independent Living of South Florida, Inc. (CILSF) receives continuing funding from the Federal Government for implementation of its core services (advocacy, independent living skills training, peer support, and information and referral).
Funding for all other programs offered by CILSF (i.e. education for deaf/hard of hearing and developmentally delayed adults; tutoring/employment preparation for youth with disabilities; employment services for veterans and people with disabilities; deaf/hard of hearing services including FTRI phones) must be sought and/or renewed on a yearly basis. Typically, applications are made to federal, state, and local government grant programs; private foundations, associations, and trusts; corporate giving programs; and individual donors.
